  I&apos;m Armenian American, my dad grew up in Türkiye/Lebanon. &nbsp;We eat börek with the phyllo dough, spinach, and use feta cheese, so good.

  I’ve always used cottage to make lasagna instead of ricotta. Don’t like ricotta. ❤

  No Jayse, Portuguese is not a mixture of languages, is a language evolved from latin alongside spanish, it only sounds close to spanish and the common romance denominator in french or italian. No relation to German whatsoever. And 0 justification being a portuary country because it&apos;s not a portuary country, and no one in hte iberian peninsula had trades with Germany to begin with. French is quite actually the most diffferent language to the rest and that&apos;s because of the germanic mixture that did take place during the normand era

  Unfortunately my grandma&apos;s recipes are gone forever. In my wife&apos;s family, it was grandpa that did all the cooking. He didn&apos;t write down any recipes but his rule for sharing or passing on a recipe was you come over and make it with him and he&apos;d teach you how to make whatever dish. He was one helluva good cook and I&apos;m so lucky my wife got in the kitchen with him to learn several dishes. It&apos;s been more than 10 years since he passed but we still think of him often.

  My grandma&apos;s recipes would be interesting. She was born and raised in Poland. She met my grandfather there. Other family including cousins immigrated fleeing Hitler and became citizens the right way. Traveled by boat. I grew up eating traditional Polish food. &nbsp;It is so yummy. &nbsp;I can make some of it and others are lost unfortunately. I used to speak Polish but lost it cause they spoke nothing but English. Me and my grandmother would speak Polish and English. I miss her and her fantastic cooking. When I asked her how to make stuff she would say oh just some of this and some of that and a lil of that and bake for 15 &nbsp;minutes. She never used any measuring cups or measuring spoons. It was always that looks right. From my mom&apos;s parents. I learned from my grandparents when I was 2 how to milk a organic pasture raised grass fed cow then make butter in an ancient wooden churn you had to operate by hand. My grandpa had open air barns for chickens. I was eating organic pasture raised eggs before they were ever in grocery stores. If my grandma wanted chicken for Sunday dinner. I knew where our food came from and how to de feather them. My Uncle lived in Alaska. I grew up eating wild &nbsp;alaskian salmon and wild buffalo my uncle took down with a bow and arrow. He told me he kept a gun for the bears just in case. He always told me they were on the other side of the river. Growing up when I did was amazing. No tech was incredible. By the time I was 29 I had no grandparents on either side of my family. My entire Polish family is gone including aunts, uncles, cousins and my dad. My only surviving family is my mom and she is 81. Time flies but wish everyday I could go back

  my mom used cottage cheese in every lasagna she ever made.... perfection. Cottage cheese, ricotta, mozarella and then a combo of marble and mozzarella for the top &quot;for color&quot; lol
