  The skip button segment was one of my favorite moments I&apos;ve ever had playing a game. At first I let the Narrator do his monologues just to humor him, but the more the segment went on, the more I appreciated what the Narrator was saying. His &quot;...but it was never meant to be funny!&quot; monologue was especially poignant and I feel really captured the theme of the whole skip button segment. That feeling of pouring yourself into something only to have it misunderstood, unappreciated, or ignored and how a single person disliking something you accomplished can eat away at your confidence... <br><br>I&apos;m rambling, aren&apos;t I?

  I always felt like it was saying &quot;the end is never the end&quot; instead of just &quot;the end is never&quot; because it sounds better and because the game has many endings that don&apos;t actually finish the game

  One of the reasons why there “The end is never the end is never the end” on the loading screen is that stanley never really has any agency. All the endings are losses in some way where either the narrator or stanley asserts power over the other. The only “good” ending, the freedom ending, is ironically the ending in which stanley follows the narrator’s direction to a T. Im glad theres no true good ending though as it would invalidate all the other endings as sort of jokes rather than the whole purpose of the game.<br><br>Edit: the second narrator also talks about this. She believes the only solution is to not play the game at all, that is the only way stanley can have real freedom.<br><br>I used to think the escape pod ending was the good ending but then I read the small print and I realized. Its a pretty terrifying ending honestly

  even with you spoiling a bunch of stuff, there were still some things you never came across that I&apos;ve seen in other people&apos;s playthroughs, but I also saw some things here that I&apos;ve never seen anywhere else, this game is truly massive

  The metaphor of relationship dynamics is so interesting to me. My favourite ending is the skip button ending because it&apos;s literally just Stanley/the player refusing to focus on the issue of the narrator working himself up about how people don&apos;t like the game and eventually the inability for the narrator to fix what he broke and as a result letting himself go mad in the billions of years of isolation we subject him to. The end is never the end when you refuse to let something go and that ending is one of the strongest showcases of that point in my opinion.
