  SE born and raised, I grew up around the REAL CONDON TERRACE ( The Circle) then we moved to Trenton Park in '89....I miss them days 😢😢

  The Berry Farm Dwellings in Washington DC was featured prominently in the 1998 movie "Streetwise" which was how Taraji P. Henson (a native of Washington DC) made her acting debut in the movie as Tammy.

  Grew up in NE DC blocks away from Brentwood, but moved to pg County, MD when I had children. It was common to see hitchhikers, prostitutes, alcoholics and drug addicts roaming the streets and I wanted my kids to play outside without worrying if they would get hit by a stray. Yes DC is city, lights, camera, action and MD is more suburbs, you have to drive to get anywhere and most head to the city, it’s like MD is a coffee house and DC is the club. More and more incidents are brewing in the coffee house than you expect is all I’m saying. I ❤ DC and pray for the safety of all the residents, especially my daughter now living in Anacostia.   I'm from SE DC I was out there and been through crazy experience's. I hope things get better for the sake of the younger generations

  I’m from Maryland, DC now is just full of YNs who need a curfew.<br>Definitely can’t say how the district changed crime wise since I wasn’t alive in the 80s.<br>I will say petty crimes like break-ins and vandalism is more prevalent.<br>After Covid I also have not been out and about in the nightlife scene where most of the crazier crimes take place for sure.<br>Now that the national guard has been parading around the city, DC feels more like a ghost town than a city.<br>I truly feel the misery in the air every time I’m here, especially working all my life in the area.
