  Ukraine was incredibly stupid to listen to Britain and the US and walk away from the deal Russia was offering them. <br><br>The entire infrastructure of Ukraine is being destroyed and over half of its people have had to flee the country and are not coming back.

  I&apos;m Russian and consider your professor&apos;s analysis and Jeffrey Sachs&apos;s analysis of Russia to be closest to what we feel and understand (although, in my opinion, Jeffrey Sachs sometimes captures our worldview more). As a Russian and someone who knows our history, I know how this war will end: Ukrainians and Little Russians (real Ukrainians-Little Russians from central and northern Ukraine and native Russians from eastern and southern Ukraine, not Western Ukrainians, who were artificially cobbled together as a nationality by the Austro-Hungarians only in the early 19th century and who have nothing in common with us and the Little Russians) and Russians and Belarusians are essentially one people, and we differ less in language and customs than, for example, Germans in northern and western Germany differ from those in eastern and southern Germany. But there have been periods of division among this people, when Western nations pitted us against each other during the Time of Troubles in the 17th century. It was the Poles, when Ukrainians were their subjects and fought against Moscow. The Austrians divided us at the end of World War I. Now, all of Europe and the United States divide us when, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, they instilled in Ukrainians the idea that we were different and that Moscow had always oppressed them. But each time, we reunited into one state and fought back against the West. So it will be this time, too. We don&apos;t hate the people in Ukraine; we feel them as brainwashed brothers who were dragged into a sect for 30 years, and we perceive this war as a civil war with pain. There&apos;s no such thing as a freeze in a civil war. Sooner or later, one side wins, and we will win this one. The Little Russians and Russians will be together again, while Western Ukraine, first artificially created by the Austro-Hungarian Empire and then assembled by Lenin and Stalin, will disintegrate again and be absorbed by Poland, Romania, and Hungary. We don&apos;t need what belongs to someone else, and we let Ukraine free in 1990, but the West turned them into a sect of maniacs who hate our shared history. They first started killing people in Odessa and Kyiv in 2014 and bombing Donbas. In January, they intensified the shelling of Donbas and prepared to seize it by force, which forced us to intervene. And you, Professor, are right. We have no other choice. We must go all the way. Otherwise, if we leave even a small piece of the state called Ukraine independent, an even worse beast will settle there again.

  With all due respect, I think, walking around in Moscow is not the same as walking around in New York - in Moscow it is much much cleaner and safer! I am not even talking about riding the subway...
