  I love how the most protected thing in the world as seeds. Never understood how anything could be worth more than food or natural resources

  Many years ago i spent almost 2 weeks going through the entire louvre. At one point I went to see the Mona Lisa, but I couldn&apos;t even get close to it because of the crowds in front of me, as I was leaving I asked one of the guards with the quickest way back out to the main entrance was, and he told me asking what I thought about the Museum.. i I shared with him that I wanted to see the Mona Lisa, but there were so many tourists. I couldn&apos;t get close to it. He asked if I was going to be around the next day and I said yes, I would come back and he showed &nbsp;me a side entrance that the employees mainly use, but was open to the public.. he told me to be there at a certain time the next morning and no matter, even though I saw the people going in the main entrance quite a ways off to stay there and the door would open! &nbsp;as soon as i heard it open, i entered and quickly ran upstairs and went to the room where the Mona Lisa was. I did exactly as he told me and got kind of nervous that everybody at the main entrance was going into the building, &nbsp;then all of a sudden the door unlocked and I tried it. It opened up, and I quickly ran upstairs to where the Mona Lisa was, &nbsp;being the only person in the entire room, I took a couple of pictures which didn&apos;t come out very well, but I stood there with her all alone for probably a minute and a half or two minutes and then I heard this rumbling going on and within 30 seconds the room was full of tourists! &nbsp;an experience i will never forget. <br>Cuban missile crisis is that the great Chicago fire so great what is I will never forget.

  King Tut&apos;s tomb was on display in San Francisco in 1966 and our kindergarten class went on a field trip to see it. Back then there were no guards, no protective glass, nothing. We were allowed to literally walk right up to it. It was a different world back then.

  Hello from Oregon, USA -- In the Fall of 1968, I was 16 years old and visited the Louvre in Paris on a rainy weekday morning. In this era before mass tourism, there were few other visitors, and it felt as if I had the museum all to myself. As I wandered the empty galleries, too young and naive to appreciate what I was seeing, I came across a familiar painting randomly placed among others hanging on the wall --- the Mona Lisa. The canvas was covered with protective glass, but it was not cordoned off, and I was able to walk right up to where it was displayed at eye level. A small sign read &quot;Do Not Touch&quot;, making the impulse to touch the lower right corner of the frame irresistible to this 16-year-old. I&apos;ve never told this story until now.

  When I went to the Museo del Oro (Museum of Gold) in Bogota, Colombia, awhile back, the place had three times more uniformed guys standing around with firearms than it had visitors/tourists looking at the exhibits.

  I saw Tut&apos;s mask in Seattle, when it toured the USA, back in probably the eighties. &nbsp;Most impressive, what an exibition.

  I saw the treasures of King Tut in Richmond Virginia in the early 1960s while it was on loan. It was set up like walking from the outermost area into the kings final resting place. Each room had a radio signal with information about the room. I was only 6 years old and remember well the experience.

  Lucky enough to have seen Tuts golden mask in Cairo museum in 1988 , US Navy port call to Alexandria then visited the pyramids as well and was a sight to behold !
