  I'm Japanese. My both grandfathers were conscripted and went to war. Not only the Japanese government hasn't admitted the existence of 731unit but also the government is unwilling to teach modern history in schools in Japan. More of it, the government started to rewrite the modern history of Japan. Awfully, many voters for the current government party give a round of applause where Japan marches towards war again. Bottomless stupidity. But there are decent citizens and educated classes who study about 731 unit and another modern history actually. But these people are always the minority the same as in many countries and in every history. The witnesses to the 731 unit who once were child soldiers and testified about what he saw in 731 unit are exposed to malicious slander in Japan.

  I worked in Japan for a while and asked many about this and other events in WWII.  Unlike the Germany, Japan still conceal their war history and crimes throughout their educational system.

  The Japanese always accuse us Chinese of not letting go of history and of promoting &quot;hate education.&quot; But the truth is, we are simply teaching our children what actually happened. We have no right to forgive on behalf of the victims.<br><br>After all, Japan still refuses to acknowledge its crimes to this day. They continue to deny the Nanjing Massacre; countless &quot;comfort women&quot; passed away without ever receiving compensation; the Japanese government still whitewashes its aggression in its own textbooks; and their politicians still visit the Yasukuni Shrine to pay respects to WWII war criminals.<br><br>Under such circumstances, how can the Chinese people be expected to just let history go?

  The Japanese during WW2 are magnitudes worst than the Germans but get a pass to be a guard dog for the Americans during the cold war.

  My grandmother born in 1928 passed away in 2018. Her mother and entire family was brutally killed by Japanese when she was 8 or 9. She was the only one in the family run into the woods and hiding for God’s sake how long and how she survived. When she returned home. House burnt down and every live killed including chickens. Japan killed 35 millions Chinese in worldwar 2 and used Chinese for human experiments you can’t imagine. We will never forget and forgive until the revenge is taken. Don’t say to me let it go it’s history. If your entire family was killed by Japanese can you let it go and consider it’s just a history?!

  The stark contrast between Germany’s profound repentance and Japan’s constant evasion of its wartime atrocities is a joke. By refusing to offer a sincere apology and rewriting history textbooks, Japan proves they have zero remorse. A nation that tries to bury its past sins is a nation capable of repeating them. The world cannot afford to look away or forget. We must remain highly vigilant. Forgiveness can only begin with truth and genuine accountability.

  The thing is, Japan enshrines all Class-A war criminals at the Yasukuni Shrine, just like how Germans would enshrine Nazi Hitler in a church - would anyone agree with that?

  Unit 731 is the most horrific evil thing done by any humans. &nbsp;The Japanese were never held accountable because the Americans gave them refuge in return for their &quot;observations&quot;. &nbsp;The Americans knew exactly the atrocities committed by the Japanese ... yet did nothing!!!!

  Thanks CNA for making this documentary! &nbsp;731 is actually not well known to people outside of China. I wouldn&apos;t have known it too if i didn&apos;t watch the news commemorating 731 last year. It pains me to hear and watch documentary such as the 731, Nanjing Massacre and much more.<br>What&apos;s most frustrating is that most of the war criminals got away free and the Japanese are actively denying what they had done in the past, even completely avoided talking about these heinous crime in their history books.

  The greatest injustice of WW2. The number of non Americans who suffered was much much greater but their grievance was brushed aside in a single stroke by the Americans.
