Conquering a group of people, subjugating them, forcing them to pay a tax and limiting their freedom of expression is an interesting definition of tolerance. This "Both sides are wrong" narrative doesnt hold up. <br>Heres a more accurate narrative of the crusades: Muslims invaded and conquered Christian lands; Christians responded. War is ugly and imperfect.

I mean you said in the beginning that the Muslims took over Christian territory had them pay taxes destroyed churches sounds like a justified reason to start the war

Egypt had a Christian population is was slaughtered by islam, Spain was taken, as well as loads of other lands and people got sick of it

Without the crusaders and nobles like Godfrey of bouillon and their achievements in the middle east and europe we'd today be speaking arabic it's a pity their are those that don't understand the phrase those that don't know their history are doomed to repeat it british government comes to mind
