All the money he earned disappeared into paying off debts. He abandoned his pride in film and moved to television—moving Japan with "Taiyo ni Hoero!" (Howl at the Sun!) and "Seibu Keisatsu" (Western Police). Supported by Tetsuya Watari and the Ishihara Group, he built an asset of 3 billion yen.
