Mike McCarthy cried when he got the job saying how much he loves the team and the city then he takes Eli in the 7th rd and the crowd gives him a 7 minute standing ovation THAT sealed the deal for Mike McCarthy since he loves a feel-good story and he got a great one in Eli.

Big B makes such a great point that needs to be said: placing these types of expectations on guys like Heidenreich, Howard, & others really aren't being fair to those guys.

The Allen/Big Ben comps for Howard & CMC comps for Eli are just setting yourselves up for disappointment. It's just not height, weight, speed that makes guys good - CMC has elite vision, body control, contact balance, & more.

I'm def rooting for them to be successful, but having realistic expectations make for a much more enjoyable fan experience.

I personally thought eli was going straight to the practice squad. We have 3 good running backs already.
