  As someone who grew up during and experienced every moment of what I like to call the “golden age of the opioid epidemic”,I really enjoyed this film. I have been sober for 6 years and work in recovery. I don’t know why my last time giving sobriety a chance worked, but it did. This disease is real. And in its active form, it is extremely powerful. <br><br>I look forward to showing this film to my clients. When you’re sitting in the chairs in the group rooms of a treatment center or the bunk beds of prison, it’s almost impossible to imagine that there could possibly be a spark of &nbsp;light at the end of the tunnel. This film emphasizes that there is a way out. <br><br>If you are in that tunnel, &nbsp;I encourage you to try, try, try, try, and try again and try again and just keep fucking trying. Somehow, some way, give yourself a chance to get out. &nbsp;If you don’t try, please hang on tight—you aren’t going to believe how much worse it gets.

  Problem is because of doctors like that Dr Raj.. now the DEA has gone so far in the opposite direction that no doctor feels comfortable prescribing pain killers, even to cancer patients.<br>I’ve known an 85 year woman who was on pain management with Percocet for arthritis and they even shut her off.. she’s 85, at the end of her life and so riddled with pain she can’t move. <br>There needs to be a balance. Some people do need pain management with opioids, completely eliminating it or scaring doctors into not prescribing is not the answer either.

  As someone who became addicted from prescription pain killers that were prescribed to me from the age of 15 until I was 19, then the Dr decided I no longer needed them, so I found heroin. Then that took me to the darkest depths of hell until I was 32, I watched my mom die from the pills she had been prescribed her entire adult life. That was my waking up moment, that&apos;s when I said, &quot;I don&apos;t want my kids to watch me die.&quot; I&apos;ve been clean for 8.5 yrs now, and I love my life! This documentary is eye-opening.

  That $150 million dollar settlement was a drop in the bucket to a company that rakes in over $200 billion a year. &nbsp;Shameful.

  Thanks doc.... As someone with serious chronic pain for the past 15 years, I want to thank you for making it next to impossible for legitimate pain patients to be treated humanely.

  I was hopelessly addicted to opiates… I truly thought I would die high, I couldn’t stop. I made so many mistakes,… caused SO MUCH wreckage…. And ultimately got my kids taken away from me in my addiction. That was the bottom I had to hit to finally stop. I had something bigger than me to care about, my children are my life and I could not and would not live without them. I am so grateful to say I entered rehab shortly after they were taken, and busted my butt to get my family back. God willing I make it to August , I’ll have 9 years &nbsp;clean. I’ve had my children back for many years ; I was so blessed with a second chance. 🙏🏼

  I overdosed 4 times in 4 months before I decided to get clean<br><br> now 11 months sober training to become a recovery coach…. God is good that’s all 🙏🏽

  I love how honest and open she is about her situation and the town. I&apos;m glad she did the documentary and happy for her to get out of there.

  Opiates took 17 to 20 yrs of my beautiful life and turned into the lost years. <br>8 yrs recovery from all of what held me in the depths of darkness. ❤😊

  My daughter (only child) passed away on June 27, 2023 from a Fentanyl OD. My wife &amp; I are heartbroken. The passing of time might make it a little easier to deal with, but I can promise you I will never be the same person that I used to be.

  Ladies, you have accomplished more positive with this one doc than the naysayers will in their entire lifetimes. I applaud your honesty, integrity and transparency even when yes, that reality isn’t pretty. Thank you seems so inadequate but here it is: THANK YOU. <br>It takes tremendous courage to speak as honestly as you have in this documentary. Massive respect for all of you.
