What I absolutely adored about Totally Spies as a kid was the fact that they always had different outfits. Back then, especially. There was always a main outfit and that was it. There wasn't any alterations or changes, unless it was a winter/halloween/romantic date setting.

50:52 alex potentially crushing on her Parisian cousins sheds a whole new light on how it's unknown whether the creators are siblings or married

A very random thing I realized about Britney as a child was that she had a combination of all the girl's hair. She had a mix of Clover and Alex's bangs, Alex's hair colour and Sam's hair length.

I don't know why I felt so smart about noticing that as a kid though 😂😂😂

This summary made me realize something. When you explained that each girl was one part of the perfect spy, the choices for who was affected and why each episode became clear to me. Sam is the brain, so she gets affected by plans that affect the brain. Alex is the body, so her body is the thing that gets affected. Clover is the personality/ charisma, so she is affected in ways that she believes will affect her social abilities. In this way, the episodes become the spies overcoming the effect on their teamwork. Whether that's Alex and Clover having to come up with plans while Sam is acting like a little kid, Sam and Clover working through a physically taxing event while Alex is off her game, or Sam and Alex figuring out how to get in somewhere that Clover could usually just talk their way into.

That's actually pretty cool!

Winx, Totally Spies, and Code Lyoko makes for a strange trifecta of European shows dubbed in English with high school kids who lead double lives to some degree

honestly I feel like the crush part is pretty realistic. It’s common for teens to gain a crush then randomly 3 months later we just go “wait why do I like you again? ugh next crush”

As a kid, I always wished for Totally Spies Happy Meal Toys. Little plastic versions of their awesome hyper femme weapons and gadgets would have sparked so much joy 😭

Fun fact: Jerry's french VA is absolutely ICONIC, it makes the character even more lovable and goofy. Jerry's french VA is actually the only thing many of us remember from Totally Spies and it carried the entire show lmao. I was so genuiely surprised and confused when I heard his english VA in the video, he sounds so... normal 😭😭
also on french TikTok there's a guy that's gotten so good at imitating Jerry he's using his voice to "roast" people 💀
