If anyone wants to know the context on why Dark Sonic mentions Maria in this comic is because Shadow didn't keep his promise to Maria and didn't protect the humans like his Canon Counterpart.

It's basically a What If scenario where Shadow chose a dark path like in the Shadow The Hedgehog game.

Giving Dark Sonic a mixture personality of Sonic and Fleetway is actually cool. Showing how it's more controlled and focus instead of wild and chaotic.

That is such a low blow. The only excuse that I think Sonic would ever have is that he witnessed a close friend die due to Shadow's willing or unwilling negligence. 🤓

I still think dark sonic should be canon, not cause it’s edgy and it looks cool, but sonic has seen a lot of shit throughout the years, one of these days he is gonna break, and considering how in the comics he’s basically the embodiment of chaos, dark sonic just makes sense to me

The worst part about this (at least for sonic)

The rings SHATTERED, shadow didn't have them fall off, they BROKE, that means he is absolutely mad, so much so he does not even care about himself now

The line "she's gonna wish you were shot dead instead of her" was really cold.

Dammit, this was top tier, props to whoever draw the comic, and RESPECT to the voice actors.
Talking about the comic itself, giving Dark Sonic that bond-like attitude between Fleetway and Sonic himself with his usual swagger was perfect, because yeah, he totally loose it, but he is just angry, not evil. I totally love this what if, is pretty much everything I wanted to see at age of 8, and even better
