  Bacon is so right though. Even if you are certain that people know the queerbaiting is a bit, it's still queerbaiting. He's not necessarily saying that Derap is being harmful by queerbaiting; I think it's moreso he's asking if Derap is aware that there can be consequences for those actions he's taking. He genuinely has a lot of patience to put up with this conversation lol.

  Genuinely tho, Bacon is so based for being very direct about this topic because its something i always thought about too. I think the short answer simply is that derap's humour is provocative, but the butt of the joke is always himself and not real gay people. So it attracts a gay audience and he keeps doing it for interaction bait. I'm sure you can go into the deeper cultural reasons for why the audience loves gay chicken jokes so much but thats a whole other rabbit hole that covers more than just minecraft lol

  My issue with this is that he uses being &apos;gay&apos; as a punchline. Like, the joke isn&apos;t flirting with people, it&apos;s that the joke is homosexuality. When Bacon asked, &quot;What&apos;s the bit?&quot; I found myself asking the same question.<br><br>I don&apos;t think the problem is queerbaiting; Derap&apos;s pretty open about being straight, but the problem lies in the joke being essentially, &quot;Haha gay people. Isn&apos;t that funny?&quot;

  It&apos;s weird because the joke when they do those bits the joke is &quot;haha it’s two men flirting&quot; I&apos;m not sayin that they’re trying to make fun of gay people but that’s just what it is. It’s like calling someone a pussy when they’re scared to do something. When people say that they obviously don’t mean &quot;you’re the inferior sex that is less capable&quot; but that is where the saying comes from and why it has the meaning it does. It’s just one of those things that generational homophobia has left in our minds.<br>There’s a reason they don’t do the same bit with a woman. And no, before anyone says it the joke isn’t &quot;it&apos;s two people unattracted to each other flirting&quot; becouse they would also not do this bit with a lesbian woman.<br>Is it harmful? No, not really especially since it’s done by people that are very supportive of queer people otherwise. I still believe that it would be better to not do that.<br><br>(I&apos;ll be suprised if anyone actually reads this. But I have thought about this before and I just saw an opportunity to yap lol)
