I believe the BMW R 1300 GS is truly a go-anywhere, do-anything bike. What really appeals to me is its ability to handle long-distance, cross-country riding. I love watching YouTube channels featuring motorcycle rallies and seeing these types of bikes being used for real adventure riding. That’s a big part of what makes the R 1300 GS my dream bike. I’m currently riding a 2025 BMW F900GS.

Standing at 5'7' (1.70 m), I sold my old Tiger 900 GT PRO in April 2026 and bought a Tiger 1200 Rally equipped with a low seat and a 20-liter tank, aiming for long two-up trips with my wife and some light off-roading. The bike was spectacular when it came to highway performance, fuel efficiency, and long-range comfort, but its high center of gravity created constant anxiety during low-speed maneuvers. Riding solo, I managed by staying hyper-vigilant—I even bought thick-soled riding boots for extra reach—but after four low-speed tip-overs while stopping, my wife became extremely anxious and lost confidence riding on the back.

Four months in, we test-drove the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure with the ASA system, and the switch was immediate. The Boxer engine geometry lowers the center of gravity dramatically, the adaptive height control makes touching down at stops effortless, and the Telelever front suspension completely eliminates front-end dive during heavy braking and corner entry. Day-to-day usability is on a whole different level: besides fitting an enormous ecosystem of dedicated accessories, the GPS mount features a seamless plug-and-play connector that works in perfect harmony with the adaptive cruise control, 30-liter tank range, and automated transmission. I took a financial hit on the early trade-in, but the massive leap in safety, tech, and riding confidence for both of us proved that BMW is in a league of its own.

The center stand deal that your foot is hitting, folds down out of the way.

Traded in my 2024 Pikes Peak for the 2025 GS. The Pikes was also my dream bike but after one ride on the GS it was very easy to see which bike was better as an all rounder. Haven’t looked back. The torque alone makes it worth it. Hope that helps your dream bike quandary 😂

Cross shopped the Multi V4s and the GS last year. Ended up grabbing a Tiger 1200 GT Pro brand new for $16k. Couldn’t pass that up. All are great bikes.

The brakes are actually phenomenal. New pads, not grabbing a big enough handful, or not harmonizing with the heavy engine breaking. It's a great allrounder, but like all the big ADV tall-rounders, it's heavy, particularly when pushing it around.
