  I feel like the actors and writers became fans of their own stuff unfortunately. Even now I saw a tweet that said “DDBA S3 will have hype moments and fights” and I said to myself “what about the rest of things that made the original so goated?” It sucks because they are very talented and passionate about the Daredevil universe

  After the finale of S2, Disney+ started auto-playing the pilot episode of the original show. I don’t normally rewatch things, but I was just bored enough. Man, I really wanted to believe that ‘Born Again’ was just as good, but that first episode of Netflix’s DD ALONE was more engaging and thrilling than the entirety of both seasons of the new show. It’s not even close. There’s so much heart and soul that was lost along the way to where we are now

  Big mistake to kill Foggy and then do the time jump. We really needed a full season of Muse and Bullseye as the villain. Then maybe season 3 could be an all out war Defenders vs Kingpin and his team. But moving forward I wouldn’t mind seeing Matt scaled up in power (like in shehulk) and he pops up in various Movies.

  Born Again feels like it just pulled a reverse DCU, in the sense that DCU finally made characters awesome after the shitshow that was the DCEU, whereas MCU/Disney doesn't seem to get their own property quite right despite how many fans were waiting for Daredevil to be part of that world. In retrospect, I think they would have been better off just planting their feet in favor of a reboot instead of trying to address and match the impossible bar that the Netflix series has set.

  After Secret Wars, they will most likely include Matt in Spider-Man movies or a potential Punisher show.<br><br>What I propose is a new series, &apos;Man Without Fear&apos;, it can be a season or two of it, and have it be set after Secret Wars, retconning Born Again, Fisk never surfaces again, his story ended after Season 3, Matt never revealed his identity, Foggy is back, have Matt and Foggy remise over a different life, Matt can confess how much he missed Foggy and this could strengthen their bond, but then villains like Mr. Fear, Gladiator, The Owl arise, being Maggie back for some good introspection, bring back Erik Oleson and have him do his original Season 4 pitch and Season 5 plans with Bullseye as the definitive villain for Matt, but now to fit in with a Post-Secret Wars world...<br><br>But I know we won&apos;t get that 😭

  Almost everything that happened in Born Again has happened already in Defenders saga. That&apos;s my worst complaint to BN<br>For example, Foggy dying and Matt leaving his hero persona for him is the central plot of season 1. But that already happened in Defenders series where Matt leaves being daredevil after Electra dies. <br>And Born Again Season 2 literally looks like a desperate attempt to look like the Netflix series to bring those audience back. Dude, if you&apos;re making Born Again, we need something new. When they announced Fisk to be the mayor, I literally thought they&apos;ll make fisk more scarier and more ruthless than netflix one and he&apos;ll be like this Thanos level threat. But nothing like that happened.

  I went into born again with absolutely no expectations because of all the behind the scenes overhauls. Like I knew it would be visually disgusting because it’s Disney and they’re incapable of shooting good action (which was like literally what made the Netflix show work in the first place but whatever), so when s1 came out and it had an actual coherent plot I was pleasantly surprised. S2 is a MASSIVE disappointment. Also they’re fucking up Brian Michael Bendis’s incredible stories, and trying to simultaneously adapt Charles Soule and Chip Zdarsky’s far inferior slop (what you mentioned about Matt not feeling like a person just the mask is Zdarskys signature cardboard characterization). This could be so good if they just did the Murdock Papers storyline well, even if it had a much lower budget and just focused on the characters. Like there’s something here but we rush through all the interesting stuff to get to more boring stuff with people I don’t give a shit about. Also I feel like the writers forgot that Matt is an unlikable self destructive jerk but with a strong support system he can be a hero and that’s why we love him. Like they were going there by drawing the line between Matt fighting his inner demons and the community fighting fascism but just got totally lost in the minutiae and forgot how to write a basic plot

  This is an amazing video! You put into words exactly how all of us daredevil fans are feeling. As you were saying everything that should’ve been in the show, I was getting frustrated too because these ideas for the characters should be so obvious yet the writers gave us none of that. I wanted to see Dex have a true redemption and have his North Star be God and his faith, I wanted to see Matt truly explain to the people he loves like Karen his deepest feelings, his fears, his faith, and adjusting to his life without Foggy. I wanted to see Karen go through this dark arc of all the deaths she’s witnessed and committed consume her and lead her to be rageful against Fisk, and Matt help her out of it. Also, if we spent time with some of the newer characters in born again and fleshed them out we would care for them more yet they are just there to push the plot further. <br><br>Sorry for the rant, just really passionate about this subject lol
