This is perfect and a very well spoken video, idk why there are weird people in the comment section but chances are they don’t own a business. But thank you for sharing your knowledge

wow, this is amazing. I've naturally expanded to figures and TCG accessories.
I don't see getting English Distro anytime soon but what you mentioned "Pokemon sells itself"----> If they market take a turns, these different avenues will keep you insulated". Straight Gold, thank my guy!

Distributors business model isn't just to move the most popular product, so they want to develop a relationship where they can use the Pokemon / Magic to move more unpopular stuff that isn't so supply constrained.

I sell on ebay and cardmarket in europe and my only distributor is a japanese redistributor but they have great prices on a good amount of their products. I was researching so much to find distributors for english and german TCGs but its just impossible. All major distributors have warning texts before you even apply that you have to be a brick and mortar store etc.
I am doing pretty good with just the japanese TCGs even without selling on amazon as well but I definitely want to expand.. It feels really bad not being able to sell german TCG products to germans. lol

If I want access to Pokémon, do I need to submit large preorders (+$5,000/$10,000)? Or should I purchase sleeves, toploaders, binders etc every month, and simply build towards the Pokémon? For context, I have a friend with distribution and its been 6 months and thats all he's had access too. Even with myself chipping in to help he still hasn't been given any Pokémon products whatsoever
He place orders for them, but they haven't been approved yet.

Hey! Just starting out myself. Your video was very informative and luckily I have come to many of these conclusions already, so I hope I'm on the right track. Question, at this point, have you gotten any pokemon or other TCG allocation? And I'm also curious if you would mind telling me roughly what you'd expect to spend with a distributor at first to keep building that relationship per week/month? really appreciate the look behind the scenes videos like these.

I don't know who to contact to even attempt distro. Been selling since 2025 but its getting tougher without it. Trying to land Yu-Gi-Oh

Here is the shortcut: Get a hold of an account manager, invite him to dinner and give him an envelope with cash and you will get connected and allocation!
