Thank you so much for another great interview, Living Lchaim. It's really nice to understand a little more about many subjects such as social interactions that impact our lives, whether positively or negatively.

Just love Rabbi Taub. The one thing that happens - for sure - by osmosis, is people developing the skills honed by their parents! Emerson works and thankfully so! 😇💞

Rabbi, you hit the nail with the social media bit eroding depth - I especially resonated with the salt water metaphor. I am not a fan of social media and primarily login to share my art/helpful content. Contrastingly, I love being social IRL but it’s hard because almost nobody wants to meet planned/at a mutually convenient time and almost everybody insists meeting over drinks/drugs which is tough because I am driven to stay sober (your work has helped me a lot). I actually don’t judge or have a problem with them doing it but it’s a bad environment for me. I am optimistic though and wil keep putting myself out there to build depth with and expand on my small inner circle who I can do planned + sober hangs more often than not. This interview motivates me to stay put. Thank you.

“Third spaces”, I.e places other than work or home. There used to be a lot of them, e.g., places of worship, lodges (Elks, Moose, Masons, etc.), social clubs, etc. So many of those places have either closed or aren’t frequented as much and now we have the loneliness epidemic.

Wow. What a profoundly deep, humble and beautifully vulnerable conversation. So much value. Thank you both.

I think Shabbos is the great equalizer. Hashem knew exactly what He was doing when he created Shabbos. Well OF COURSE, but now His creations can appreciate it even more. Previous generations needed the physical rest and the spiritual connection. Our generation needs the mental rest and the spiritual connection
