How delightful. No profanity, no vulgarity, no guns, no CGI, no violence ... with civil well-mannered dialog. A refreshing change...

Understated, but riveting! This movie proves that a good ghost movie doesn't need sudden shocks, gore or horrific special effects. What I like about a ghost story is the poignant history behind the haunting.

A wonderful movie. James Mason and Elizabeth Mullen were a perfect older couple. Movies like this could never be remade!

There are few things more lovely than a well-filmed black and white movie from earlier days. Just story, people, and sets. The clothes, the house, the furniture, and the beautiful voice of James Mason and a picture of a life in other days come together to make art. I'll take a movie like this over any new CGI excessive sense onslaught. Thank you for this film.

I love these old movies, such grace and style. Good stories, not trashy, no swearing and no mocking of people who have faith. Its so refreshing. Its mostly what I watch now thanks to great streaming services and lovely sites like this one. Real story lines, not just a lot of noise and nude bodies. What a shame movies have devolved into what they are now. This is one of the great old movies I loved. I remember watching a lot of these classic movies with my Mom when I was a little girl. The actors had to really act, not just strip off. It seems like movies now are so dark, and pessimistic and vulgar.

Isn't it an "extra" bonus to see all the era furniture, houses, etc. It's lovely. I love James Mason, I could just listen to him all day.
