  I think the "jetpack" sightings are drones with human shaped cowlings. They don't even necessarily need to be to life sized because it's almost impossible to get a sense of scale for objects with nothing close in the foreground or background and while traveling at flight speeds.

  I have a graduate degree in biology. In the Thai Binh case, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of exotic pathogen: northern Vietnam is one of the most simultaneously biodiverse  and underexplored places in the world, and rare zoonotic diseases could definitely hide out there. Especially since the animals were afflicted first. And I can see why the Vietnamese government would want to cover that up.

  Lazy, I was thinking the same exact thing regarding that poor family; it was something in the soil. Whomever is responsible for the shoddy clean-up, they SHOULD pay restitution to that poor family.
