  I still have my fiero…I purchased it in 1999, and it was a different fiero than it is today” It came with a 4cyl engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission” and it was a silver notch back with a luggage rack… The first engine I swapped was a older 4.5 v8 caddy engine converted to a 2 barrel carb” to skip having to do a wire harness conversion” because back then I had no clue about doing a wire harness conversion” The 3 speed automatic transmission lasted a week before it died” I ended up buying a 4.9 and the automatic transmission from the same caddy I pulled the drive train from…I drove the hell out of it for a few years before the 4 speed automatic transmission lost first gear, and 4th gear, and I decided to convert the fiero to a 5 speed Isuzu transmission” drove it for a few years until the clutch became a pile of metal…I replaced the clutch, and drove it for another few years, until I became bored of it, and wanted a different engine…and that was the 3800 supercharged engine…I converted the car back to a auto transmission because I wanted to use its 4t65e HD 5speed automatic transmission…<br><br>I drove the hell out of it” sometimes doing street, and freeway racing, and never lost a race…eventually the transmission lost 2nd, and 4th gear, so I pulled the engine, and had the transmission rebuilt with harder parts, and the supercharger was replaced with a turbo with a fastback conversion …Today it’s a different car from when I first purchased it…I now drive it like I have some sense because I’m tired of having to pull the engine.<br><br>I had my fiero for almost 27 years.

  I had one of these v8 swaps when I was 18 - a white Formula with t tops and a 5 speed with flowmaster exhaust and upgraded ARE two tone spokwed wheel with a 1” additional width compared to factory offset - had green accent lights on it <br><br>It was beautiful and incredibly fast and sounded amazing - I wish I had never sold it

  The Fiero was a popular car back in the 80s. It does my heart good to see this one revived. I respect the knowledge and determination that you fellas bring to a project like this. This car would be a great weekend cruiser. Can&apos;t image there would be too many like it at a cars &amp; coffee meet.

  One word comes to mind... Nostalgia. Not because I ever owned one but because it represents the 80s. A time when many things were worth longing for like music and movies, great rides and first kisses. Thankyou guys for briging back some really cool memories.

  The 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT is one of my favorite cars. When I was 16yo I went on a field trip through school to the Pontiac Michigan Fiero plant and went for a test ride in a brand new one straight off the line.

  A good friend of mine had one of those in the late 80s with the V6. Nightmare to work on. We did the valve cover gaskets and plugs, and we invented a lot of new curse words.

  What I enjoyed about this build was that the Fiero kept revealing another problem every time you got a little deeper into it, and you just kept working through them. Seeing the pieces of the original engine once it came apart really showed how badly it had failed, but finding another 350 was only the beginning. Going through the cooling system, addressing the replacement engine before installing it, and sorting out the suspension made this feel like much more than simply swapping engines and calling it finished. There’s a tremendous amount of work behind bringing an unusual old V8 Fiero like this back onto the road. Really enjoyed watching you guys work through the whole project.<br><br>— Ken
