I lived in a rainy climate, and OEM tires were notoriously bad for wet pavement traction. I always purchased replacement tires that had the highest wet traction rating. Typical government action of "one size fits all." It doesn't.

Those lower rolling resistance tires generally have poor wet and snow traction as well as a longer braking distance.
