Go to the high mountain (5000+ ft) communities. There is more water than anywhere in the state. Mild winters, cool summers. Solar power does extremely well year round. Quiet, forests and wild life.

Live in a van and get to see all these places at your own pace.No rent.Move when it gets hot.No neighbors and people you don't really want to know .

I tried living in Phoenix. I only lasted a year and was glad to get out of there. Arizona is just too blooming dry and agonizingly hot for me, and besides l I happen to like looking at something besides desert, dust, rocks, and cactus day in and day out.

Small town living is appealing, so long as you are in good health. But as you get older, you might need more healthcare. Specialists are not usually in small towns. Hospitals that take care of major problems are not either. For those you have to travel, sometimes for several hours to get the medical attention you require.
