  I personally don&apos;t think kei trucks are being banned because of safety concerns, they&apos;re being banned because other light truck/UTV producers are gonna lose profit since kei trucks are more practical in every sense.

  This truck is the work-horse of Asia. I grew up as a military brat on a mountain called Negishi Japan. This truck kept commerce rolling. Don&apos;t let anyone hate on it, I plan on buying the Toyota one once it finally drops.

  Japan has very tight hilly roads they have a ton of mountains and small farms on hills and mountain sides these trucks were built with that in mind

  The one thing I could never understand is why American truck makers never adopted the &apos;folding side&apos; bed concept the kei trucks use. It&apos;s far more practical than the classic enclosed bed of the American pickup.

  I never got the safety argument. A model T is NOT safe at any speed above parked, yet it&apos;s perfectly legal to register in all 50 states. The big scare of these cars is that it&apos;ll take sales from domestic trucks. Which doesn&apos;t make sense, but the government is here to help, I guess.

  These are very popular in the Philippines. They are workhorses and very reliable. They can convert them to left-hand drive including the dashboard.

  I am involved in facility maintenance at a University. &nbsp;I have been advocating that Kei trucks are perfect transportation for our technicians. &nbsp;Kei vans are cool and practical, too.
