  Dolly was once asked how she felt when Whitney Houston gets credit for “I will always love you”. Her response was classic. “It doesn’t bother me, just as long as I get the check” Gotta love Dolly

  In an interview, the actress Jackée Harris said that she was working on a project with Dolly when the Whitney Houston version of &quot;I Will Always Love You&quot; came out. She asked Dolly if she was upset about it. In response, &nbsp;Dolly took Jackée to her dressing room and showed her a check with all these zeroes on it. <br><br>&quot;You think I&apos;m mad about this?&quot; 🤣<br><br>I always use Dolly as an example of a brilliant artist who is <b>also</b> savvy about business. She kept her rights to her music, so she profited heavily from Whitney twice (once when Whitney&apos;s cover came out, and again when Whitney died and the song got so much play). No matter the medium or genre, Dolly is one of the role models you should study if you want a career in the arts. She was incredible, and she will be missed 😢👼

  Dolly is one of those rare celebrities that are extremely talented, genuinely a lovely person, and no one who has interacted with her seems to have an unkind thing to say about her.<br><br>Plus her singing just seems effortless

  The people I worked with was totally shocked when I told them that Dolly Parton wrote I Will Always Love You. &nbsp;They didn&apos;t believe me. I told them she wrote it for Porter Wagoner when she was leaving his show. &nbsp;They were saying no way and I told them to look it up on the internet. &nbsp;They were totally amazed. They thought that Whitney Houston wrote it. &nbsp;I love Dolly Parton she is the best and I remember watching the Porter Wagoner show when she sang that song. &nbsp;Whitney Houston had an amazing voice but Dolly sang that song better than anyone because that song came from her heart. She is a great singer and a great human being! God bless her!
