  My German Shepard mix was raised by my cat. &nbsp;He walked on top of the 6&apos; high wall around the house. &nbsp;He climbed trees. &nbsp;He could jump over a 6&apos; high gate to get out at night. &nbsp;But try as he might, he couldn&apos;t get the neighborhood cats to play with him.<br>It was a problem because he would steal front door mats and lay on them in the backyard. He collected dozens. How he got them over the gate I&apos;ll never know.

  I &nbsp;was also fortunate to have a pit bull raised by cats. She learned from the very beginning that the cats were in charge and she was to do whatever they wanted and just go with it. She was like Opie, thinking she was a cat and not really a dog at all. She even learned how to make a noise that passed as a very convincing &quot;Meow&quot; &nbsp;We officially called her the &quot;Pittie Cat&quot;
