  Did you know that doing this not only extends the life of your unit but also makes the air blow colder and saves electricity?  What other things have you found to help with this?

  I was informed that I would need a new ac unit at $10,000. I'm a 66yr old woman on fixed income. I prayed & found your video. I was able to do this myself.  I'm still crying out of gratefulness. Thank you so much.

  Great video. Be careful with hvac companies people. Most WILL rip you off, especially the big name ones OMG! Had my ac unit completely go out and was quoted around $10k by 5 or 6 companies. Then I discovered an old high school friend of mine runs his own hvac company. He came and replaced the compressor for 1500 and saved me 8 grand! It's your hard earned money ppl, hold onto it!

  HVAC contractor here.<br> Good tutorial for homeowners. The number of home warranty claims denied because of dirty condenser unit is amazing &amp; people always respond we didn&apos;t know we had to clean it. Yea its buried in the 32-page contract you signed, or they say you have to do regular Maintenace. <br>Couple things. First to measure performance measure your temperature split or Delta T . This is temperature at the return grill (air pulled into system) minus temperature output at a supply vent (cold air). This shows how much actual cooling the system is producing and isn&apos;t skewed by the 2-hour difference and the sun beating down harder on the condenser. Second turn it down and let it run for 15 minutes constant prior to temperature readings. Consider some of that duct work is in the attic or warm spots. Initial readings are not accurate as even well insulated duct work that is in a 125-degree attic is HOT prior to AC turn on. This also allows the condenser to dry after cleaning. Wet coils make for a great cooling reading as they dissipate heat more efficiently however unless it rains 24/7 it&apos;s not a realistic reading. Dry condenser coils for all measurements. &nbsp;<br><br>Last don&apos;t shy people away from just water. Every year wash it with just the sprayer, more often if its dusty or sandy soil around. Plain water is water the manufacturer recommends. &nbsp;Some people will never get around to a full cleaning but just taking the water hose and spraying it down is better than nothing at all. &nbsp;<br>Coil cleaners usually contain lye (sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide). Lye is a strong base and can be caustic, meaning it can damage materials like the aluminum-oxide layer on coils. While some cleaners are formulated to be non-acidic, they may still contain lye as a cleaning agent.

  Another good rule of thumb. When mowing or weed eating around your unit make sure its off so it doesnt suck in all the dust and clippings

  Hi, a handyman asked me to clean my condenser units so I can have a better air he wanted to charged me $200 for each but after watching your videos I was able to do it my self <br>Thank You very much for saving me &nbsp;big 👌

  OUTSTANDING VIDEO - I&apos;m 70, still working full-time, and taking care of my disabled wife. Was charged $800 last year for this coil-cleaning service and replacing the capacitor. I was grateful at the time to have my AC unit back online, but now see I was really taken advantage of. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways! Your explanations are excellent -- and product recommendations reasonable. I appreciate your transparency and will be be a loyal viewer from now on!

  Your DIY Capacitor install saved me $400, &nbsp;bought $15 spare capacitor to have on hand just in case we had an issue. &nbsp;8 months later fixed the issues in 15 minutes. &nbsp;Reminder when replacing a capacitor Safety First always

  I pre-rinse the coils with a garden hose, then spray a water/dawn dishwashing liquid mixture on the coils, let sit then rinse. &nbsp; &nbsp;Dawn is safe on metals, non-corrosive, a mild degreaser and I already have it under the sink.
