  I&apos;m gonna post a revised version of my comment from the Patreon upload of this episode because while the Project 2009 shout out at the end is great, there&apos;s more context that is insane to that that I just want more people to be able to know and read. Anyway... <br><br>For me the wildest part about the Steam 2 leaks and all the Portal 2 builds leaking is that not even a week prior, like literally six days, a team of modders released a mod for Portal 2 called Project 2009. Project 2009 is a mod which aims to replicate the Core Hub era version of Portal 2 from around November of 2009 which if I remember correctly isn&apos;t a build that we have got from this leak. And there&apos;s a part of me that feels really bad as the people that made that mod spend four years researching and pulling together every scrap of information they could find about Portal 2&apos;s Core Hub era. <br><br>And then not even a week later, it gets overshadowed by the genuine article being shadow dropped on the internet. And man, I will always feel bad for the team behind Project 2009. The only other next level coincidence thing I&apos;ve seen in my life is Sonic 2 Communities Cut releasing the day before the retro-engine RSDK decomps of the mobile versions of Sonic 1 and 2 dropped.<br><br>I still think project 2009 is worth playing. Even though real pre-release builds up the game now, the mod still has merit, especially with the commentary mode turned on. Which offers extra content for what&apos;s in the mod and what they were recreating.
