Many years ago I attended Rhema, I left the movement when my daughter died. I was told and she was told it was our fault that she was dying due to our faith was not strong enough. I am rooted in the Gospel now and I feel we were dealing with evil back then.

In the late 70's I read a pamphlet with his testimony, what you just mentioned, and was in awe and fear of the Lord.
But I think, as a preteen, this planted false seeds of lies about myself regarding the lord and His desire for me. I stayed with those lies about myself and compared myself to those preachers (whom I now know were false teachers), and the spirit of condemnation would taunt me saying I'm not really saved cause I'm not like them. False teachers are very dangerous, especially to a new believer.
So I was 17 and left my parent's spiritually dead church, rebelling at the time, and my mom encouraged me to try a new church started at my old elementary school auditorium, and after a couple visits i got saved for real. But I had a long journey before me, and am thankful for everything that lead me to where I am today and continuing to lead me til the lord takes me home.

To study the Bible in its context is the best approach to combat false teachings in these perilous times. .

Strange, the guys who held Hagin up, why were they not affected as they were far closer that 30 feet to him.

The pastor of the church we were going to when we began to walk away from Word of Faith was a disciple of Hagin, had known him. His books were available to anyone in the church. I could never read them. It was like warning bells going off around me when I would try. But in a word of Faith you are convinced it is the devil trying to deceive you if you doubt something. There are excuses for everything that doesn’t add up. So glad to have been freed from that doctrine. 2 years free.

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Long! I praise God for how much He has used you both in my life to understand His Word far better than I have in the past. I come from a hyper-charismatic background, fairly akin to the New Apostolic Reformation. I was formerly a false-prophet who blasphemed the name of the Lord through my false prophecies: of which, they came not to pass. But God, in His great mercy, has really showed me through His Word the fallacy of my beliefs, and introduced me to teachers of the Word, like yourself, Mr. Long. I bought Douglas Judisch's book "An Evaluation of Claims to the Charismatic Gifts" and have enjoyed listening/reading to the arguments he makes in his book. Again, keep up the good fight of faith, brother and sister; and continue, by God's grace, to put out videos to warn others about the dangers of the evil, false doctrines that are being propagated in this era of the Church's history. May grace, peace, and mercy be multiplied to you and your children. Amen.

There is also something else that a lot of WOF people will not tell you.... they have tragedy in their lives just like everyone else.. their children die, mine did, they get cancer, they have accidents and lose a leg, they have to have surgery... and they Can't cause an election to turn out how they think it should!!!!! But they are decreeing and declaring during ALL these troubles! They will NEVER...talk about this! Thank you Brother and Sister Long.
