Cripple Creek has such a history of fortune and misfortune.

Cute little town. The brick work is very nice on these old buildings. I agree that big newer building looks terrible behind those old town buildings. You would think they would have put that ugly mess further away from old town.

Thank you for showing so much of the jail. My grandfather, Cecil Markley, was the sheriff starting in the late 30's. My dad's family lived upstairs for the first year he was in office. Dad would sleep in one of the women's cells because they were rarely used.

Wow, I had to look up Susan Anderson MD. She was affectionately called doc Susie. She was clearly very loved. I loved how apparently her father encouraged her to go to medical school. Definitely a family ahead of their time. Kudos dad for being forward thinking back then!

My husband and I have been to Cripple Creek multiple times throughout our 55 year marriage. We enjoyed this video so much and relived our fun adventures there. Thanks for taking us there once again. It was easier for you to breathe up there (well, somewhat, ha!) than for us to go at our age. This was super interesting and the trip to the cemetery may have been my most favorite that you visited at Cripple Creek. As always, great video.

Amazing mining towns! I could spend weeks there (in both) poking around and enjoying the museums! I grew up in a Victorian home complete with gas lights, Victorian furniture and everything. I love old mining town so there is a special place in my heart for mining history and everything in that era. Thank you both so much! ❤-Nina
