You can really tell that Jon's range and vocal quality has increased a lot since TGWDLM. Love Richie's character too.

bryce’s mind blowing solo part in hatchet town always reminds me why the hype is SO REAL for her playing the main character in starkid’s next musical!! i already know she’s going to KILL IT

I'm convinced will branner was born to play exactly a high school bully turned b-movie slasher villain

I love how you noticed the detail of Ruth stopping miming objects, it was a detail I really loved in seeing how inexperienced Ruth was at this kind of acting

Lauren Lopez did all the choreography for this and I think this was her first time choreographing an entire show. The cameos in Hatchet Town were just for the pro shot, the live version used actors that were already there. Speaking of the live version, there are videos out there of a wide shot for the Lords in Black song where you can truly appreciate their performance and how they play off of each other.

The foreshadowing in Grace’s line in Dirty Girl - “on your knees pray along, if you wanna last until dawn.” Also I love the detail that right at the end of them invoking the names as the lights are going down before the Lords appear, Grace scrunches her face like she’s in pain, and I think it’s the Lords connecting with her. I think they’re the reason she had the dream about Max being a ghost before she even knew he was back - they sent it to her. They’ve been watching her, after all. She’s such a perfect pawn, and they’ve been waiting to put her in play.

Grace having the book at the end makes me worry even for the lords in black lol.

I personally love how when pete stands up to max, its not just an automatic happy ending like it would be in a disney movie. They show how it would be in real life, if a little exaggerated. I also love how when pete says "im sick of your... Shit" hes still unsure of himself. He isnt fully confident, and no one would be.

This is SUCH a solid show. The quality jump is obvious and everyone is on their A game with every aspect. Im so proud of starkid for coming so far
(Gotta give it to Will Brenner who played Max. One of the best strakid debuts ever, he’s so good at playing an 80s bully while still being goofy and animated, he really gave this role his everything)

The person playing Stephanie Lauter was actually Regina George in Mean Girls and the person playing Max Jägerman was Biff in Back to the Future on broadway

1:33:56 my headcannon is that Ruth isn’t singing a song from the BBQ Monologues, she’s singing what her BBQ Monologue would be. She dreams about being a middle aged cancer survivor in a loveless marriage. That’s her dream. It’s so sad.

I’m so excited to see Bryce as the lead in Cinderella’s Castle, she deserves the opportunity to show off her voice
