  I called &quot;The Farm&quot; in 2011; they said they have a 1 year &quot;trial&quot; to see if we&apos;re a &quot;good fit&quot; and rent is $900 per month. Number 10 needs to be kicked off your list!

  If you are compelled to work in exchange for something, that something is not free. No one these days seems to understand what the word &quot;free&quot; means. It doesn&apos;t apply to just money, it applies to any kind of obligation. Free means no obligation to trade or provide something in exchange for what you&apos;re receiving. Free is a gift, not a grift.

  I lived in two different commune type situations back in the 70&apos;s. Neither worked out and both eventually disbanded and fell apart. Both had pretty much the same problems: 1. the collectivism model did not work because it;s just communism under another name. Pretty quickly some people realized they were working hard and others were just a long for the ride which led to bad feelings between them. Very soon, those working hard had enough of the slackers and just left. Then the commune fell apart. &nbsp;2. As in any group, certain people rose to the top and were in control. Then they started taking the best stuff and the perks for themselves and their friends. This led to the rest feeling taken advantage of and they left and the group fell apart. &nbsp;I speak from direct experience on this.

  Pioneers? Established in the early &nbsp;1970&apos;s. Those are Hippies dude! Looking to live off grid, even back then. In 1973, my best friend took a road trip up PCH, or what is called Highway 101 up the California coastline. We ended up stay in Commune in Santa Rosa, after picking two other women hitch hiking. Drove them into the woods and were invited to stay. Our little cabin, was a converted chicken hutch. Was really cute and nicely decorated. We left, thanked them for letting us stay and left to drive back home to Antelope Valley. Nice people, &nbsp;shared their meals and their weed and wine. But a bit too over the top. But we had a great time that week.

  I think the most despicable places I&apos;ve seen is &nbsp;nursing homes. People work their entire lives, given less than $100 for their needs but every dollar and asset taken for questionable care. Sometimes, &nbsp;abusive care. Criminal

  There are four houses for sale in Harmony right now. The cheapest one is $336,000. That’s not a cheaper place.
