The worst thing about Attack on Titan is that it makes your bar so high every other story becomes boring

I love how they carefully set up all these elements. Marco's death was a meme at the time, just another side character pointlessly killed. But guess what... it wasn't pointless at all!

Why is AoT a perfect anime?

1. No unnecessary fillers
2. Complex and beautiful plot with amazingly written characters
3. No repetitive fights
4. Talk-no-jutsu? No, we don't do that here
5. No unnecessary fanservice
6. No plot holes
7. Power of friendship doesn't make you stronger here
8. ERWIN
.
.
Edit: I READ THE FINAL CHAPTER AND I NEED THERAPY BYE-
also, the points above applies to chapters 1-131 of the manga only, bye.

Some people just hate on Attack on Titan just because they think that every popular anime is overrated

So basically Isayama aimed to catch our attention in season one and then proceed with telling his story. It's genius. That's how you attract the mainstream audience.

AOT season 1-3 was great but the reveal and the shift in season 4 just makes it one of the best stories ever told
