  I hand drilled a borehole in my garden 3 years ago. Went through a meter of top &amp; subsoil, then a meter of yellow clay, &amp; struck water at the clay/ Devonian shale boundary. Total depth is 2.5m!<br>It&apos;s a trickle well &amp; at minimum during this last dry summer it yielded about 400 litres/ day. More than enough for our medium size garden.<br>The pump is a 12v &nbsp;caravan water pump with two level sensors &amp; a simple electronic controller. A cycle lifts around 10 litres per cycle, with variable recovery times depending on the medium term weather. It&apos;s deep ground water. It pumps into a 227 litre barrel with a mains water butt pump to feed the hose.<br>I did a DIY test kit on it &amp; essentially drinkable water.

  Evening mate. not often you come across enthusiastic tradies these days that are this passionate about their Jobs/Projects. I myself am currently doing an electrical apprenticeship later on in life but my background is plumbing and watching these videos with all the hints, tips and tricks have got me excited to get stuck in and knuckle down. the editing is also great and love the tunes in the background. Thanks for sharing this with us, great entertainment all round.
