  One game suspension feels way too light to me. This wasn’t just a targeting ejection. Stephens celebrated after the hit and was smiling while Dante Moore was still down being treated, yet USC allowed him back on the sideline. Lincoln Riley’s explanation afterward was basically, “Because he’s on our football team.” USC didn’t really address the broader situation until the next day.<br><br>Compare that to Shane Beamer and South Carolina. When Dylan Stewart crossed the line, Beamer dealt with it during the game, confronted him on the sideline, and then suspended one of his best players indefinitely after reviewing everything. He immediately made it clear that talent doesn’t put anyone above the program’s standards.<br><br>Stephens apologizing and USC eventually disciplining him is good, but the contrast raises legitimate questions about the culture Lincoln Riley is establishing at USC. When something like this happens, how a coach responds—especially in the moment—shows what the program will tolerate. A one-game suspension after the way the whole situation was initially handled doesn’t send a very strong message.

  I&apos;m all for violent football within the rules. Stephens was not diving for his legs and Dante was almost flat on his back. It was intentional

  Lincoln Riley&apos;s biggest problem is that he&apos;s a dirty coach coaching dirty players for a dirty team. It WAS a dirty hit. Absolutely was. I can&apos;t believe anyone would defend it. Disgusting take.

  Dillon Riola is a big reason USC had zero sacks. His pocket presence was elite. They brought pressure but he either stepped up through it or rolled out of it. If the defense can figure it out Oregon is going to be a really tough out.

  Oregon’s schedule sets up nicely for them to regroup and get healthy. They’ve got a bye week, then UCLA and Nebraska both at home. After what we saw against USC, I know this team knows exactly what’s at stake now. This Oregon team is ready for war the rest of the season. Prayers for Dante and a quick recovery. 🙏 Sco Ducks! 🦆🔥

  For especially egregious hits like this, the players should be fined by the conference. If the players are gonna be paid, they need to be held financially responsible for their play and actions.

  The suspension wasn’t for the targeting. It was due to the huge backlash against the school for Stephens sideline performance. &nbsp;USC felt obligated to do something, weak as it was. &nbsp;The Trojans will stay a mediocre door mat team so long as Riley and his staff remain.

  I’m an Oregon fan. I’m in agreement that the hit wasn’t exactly the issue, I played the game and obviously stuff happens when bodies are flying around. <br><br>It’s quite simply the celebration, smiling, and prancing round the sideline. Glad we won.

  Guys, watch the game again. Oregon changed the way they called their offense after Moore went down. That wasn’t a Will Stein offense per se, but it was very reminiscent of a Kenny Dillingham offense. Take what the defense gives you and take your shots when they’re there.
