  His body language was borderline, there were a few times I thought he might snap at you. I am so impressed by his self-control, he wanted so badly to be a good boy despite his nerves.

  My neighbor had a border collie one day her mother was home alone having a heart attack the dog came to my house to get me to help. Smartest dog I ever met.

  I worked for animal controle for several years,there was a border collie in the village that often went missing, after the first two times we knew exactly where to find him!at the local primary school in the playgroud herding children,the owners bought him 8 walking ducks,the problem was solved😂😂😂

  I worked in a hotel, late at night a border collie arrived at the back door baring its teeth, after a few moments, it looked at me like I was a moron, and left.<br>I later learnt that was &quot;Bounce&quot; and he &quot;smiled for sausages&quot;, but nobody had told me, and as a result, I had not saved any. Of course from then on, I did.

  I like how you worded the &quot;border collie without a job will invent one,&quot; as its important people realize they&apos;re not being bad if they act up. People just need to do their research before getting a high energy high intelligence breed.

  The lying down thing is also a genetic trait of border collies. If they feel like things are too frantic around them, their instinct is to lie down to calm the stock. In some lines, and with some trainers, the lying down becomes too pronounced to the point where it becomes a hindrance and such dogs are called &quot;clappy.&quot;

  I knew a border collie that used to ‘herd’ fish.<br><br>She lived at the guest house of an Abbey in rural England (I actually forget the county, I was young!) and it had an L-shaped fish pond in the centre. <br><br>She had worked out the fish in the pond reacted to her standing over them as well as her shadow falling on them, so entertained herself (and a much younger me) for hours and hours herding them round and round the pond from one corner to the other.

  He is exactly why immediate training, socialization, and desensitization are CRUCIAL from puppyhood or ownership!<br>He did amazing. ❤
