  It took a Group B driver to improve spectator safety! Michele Muton was the head deputy safety inspector for the WRC from 2013-2024 and under her tenure spectator safety has improved by a hundred fold compared to 80s, 90s and 00s. The last time there was a spectator death in the WRC was in 1993.

  As someone who is a huge rally fan and also has driven rally the group b cars where monsters but even more insane is that modern day rally cars are insanely more powerful fast and manueverable and most importantly safe even tho they still have weak spots as shown by the unfortunate accident that took Graig Breen from us Rest In Piece 🕊️

However that is very simple, as aerodynamics was still a newish thing, modern rally cars use even crazier areo.

  so what youre referring to at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7PFpdgRAV4&amp;t=118">1:58</a> is a sprint car. S1apSh0es did a video on those you can check out too! the guard at the front stop big rocks and dirt clods from hitting the driver and hes strapped in there better than youll ever be in your personal vehicle xD its even a rule now a days that you must wear arm restraints that clip onto the 5 point harness inside the car.
