1. Do you normally purchase Princess Plus, Premier, or neither?
2. Does a $5-per-day increase change your decision about buying a package?
3. If you buy Plus, what makes it worthwhile for you—Wi-Fi, crew appreciation, beverages, dining, or something else?
4. What questions do you have about Plus or Premier that you’d like Allison to address in a follow-up video?

Thank you for addressing the question about it being worth it for those of us who don’t drink alcohol!

Allison, another great video!
I have discussed this matter with many people and crunched the numbers every way possible. We do not purchase either the Plus or Premier Packages. It just does not work for us. Neither one of us hardly ever drinks, we may drink 1 or 2-frozen margaritas on a 7-night cruise. We pre purchase a 12-bottle water package prior to our cruise, which are less cost than on the ship and there is no gratuity. We are both Elite and always exchange our mini-bar set up for Diet Cokes, Cokes and Perrier and since we are Elite, we get the WiFi half off.
We actually always spend our extra funds on a Reserve Collection Mini Suite, which allows us to dine anytime without a reservation or waiting in a line. We also enjoy the additional non menu items in the Reserve Collection Dining Area for lunch and dinner.

If we do utilize specialty dining or casual dining, we simply pay separately.
So even with an occasional margarita, specialty dining, casual dining and bottle water, I can never manage to get close to either one of the packages cost.
Again, thanks for all you and Gordon do!

Premier package every cruise. All inclusive and no stress. I love to try the fun cocktails that are new to me.

Loved Premier on our Alaskan cruise last year and have it booked again for our B2B Caribbean/Panama Canal next year in March. However, only the Plus for our next cruise going to Hawaii in January. Thank you and Gordon for your wonderful informative service.

Hi Allison and Gordon. Thanks for your continued information especially about Princess and all your tips related to cruising and the places you visit. We'll be on the Majestic in November and really looking forward to our 12 nighter reposition journey. We usually do the plus package but this time decided on the premier after doing the math. The thing that took us to the premier was the excursion credit along with the specialty dining and the picture package. Have a great rest of this cruise and really hope someday to join you on one of your group cruises, God willing! Be safe and be well! Bruce and Gwen from Jersey. 👍🌞

Princess package is good, but I think Holland America Have it All with the Early booking bonus is actually better!
It gives you Elite beverage package vs standard Signature, Premium WIFI vs lower end Surf, Prepaid Gratuities, Shore excursion credit which the amount varies by length of cruise, specialty dining again the number of restaurants varies base on cruise length , plus Best Price Guarantee! All very usable upgrades and well worth it. Current pricing is $60 per day, going up as well to $65 per day starting mid 2027. Shore excursion credit and specialty dining beats Princess casual dining perks IMO. Great video and well explained, it is a no brainer to at least get Plus on Princess!

Just a note that if you buy travel insurance from Princess, they add 12% to the Packages - so the Plus is actually $72.80, not $65. That said, if you subtract the gratuities and wifi charges, the drink component is only $29.80, which is easily exceeded with a few coffees, sodas and a wine or beer. So it still can be a good deal. For comparison, drink packages alone on RCL are $70 pp and up. BTW, the charcuterie tray in Vines is included as one of the four casual dining venues in Plus - and it's really good.

We always add the Premier Package at time of booking. It is the most convenient option for us.

I have always thought the packages were pretty good. I remember when it started for $40 a day and all you got was internet, gratuities and the 15 drinks. At that time, they also had coffee cards until this system went in place. Through the years we watch them add and change things to their extra programs.
We are going on the Star in a few days and had originally booked it with the Plus package. Then last Friday we started talking about all the new restaurants added and how we would like to try them. So, with that in mind we switched to the Premier package with the new item they added last year with a $200 credit for an excursion. We booked the one that goes through the Panama Canal in a small boat. Can't wait to do that one! We had the Premier package on our last cruise of 54 days and loved it! Thanks for sharing!!

We have never booked plus or premier. We prefer to sail more. We don’t drink alcoholic drinks or special coffees. Elite status allows us to swap out water for our minibar. We also get half off wifi. The standard wifi worked great for what we needed. We don’t do specialty dining because the food is great in the main dining room. It’s all about how you wish to cruise. Do the math and decide.
