Ernie: I'd like to see the long simmer burn for soups and stews.

Simmering for a long period of time would be something I'd definitely be interested in.

That's exactly how I honed the design of my alcohol stoves. I, at a minimum, made coffee every day with it and then also used it to actually cook from time to time at home.

Hey Ernie - just snap the simmer ring to the cap and voila. Now you have a handle and can snuff the flame out easily without the fiddle factor.

As I had posted 14 hours ago, I had ordered one of these stoves... it arrived about three hours ago. Already been trying it out, and I'm EXTREMELY impressed. Thank you once again, Ernie, for a fantastic gear recommendation. Oh, as for snuffing it out, I just clip the simmer ring over the lid and use the simmer ring handle to put the lid on it. Works like a dream. So my Trangia clone with the Zen stand is going in my lightweight gear, and this stove is going in my car camp gear.

I promised myself I wouldn’t add any further to my stove collection. I would just live vicariously through your testing. Just ordered mine and it’ll be here day after tomorrow. 🤣
