In Castile Spain, were my ancestors are from "la Gloria" can still. be found in use in village houses, very ancient traditions that now is slowly disappearing. As an architect I have studied it for adaption in contemporary houses and felt that combined with the rocket stove concept it could really be efficient. The gloria design varies, in some cases the combustable material, because of the nature of the firebox burns hot enough to produce steamy smoke and CO2 not soot. This is the great advantage in the parts of Spain were wood is scarce, because twigs and grasses can be use. An adaption so the heat source is natural gas would really be great.
