Bro doesn't understand what abuse does to a person. When someone beats you telling you your trash day in and day out you eventually start to believe it.

I love how instead of blocking out the screen for five minutes you just put copyright with the fact you’re angry about it over the screen that is the funniest thing I’ve seen😭

In the Manga, it’s shown that Kotaro’s mother left because she was super ill, and was already dying from it. She actually moved into Shimizu Apartments (1-1, the only room we never see rented out in the anime) and actually became friends with Karino, but never told him about Kotaro, and kept it to herself. She worked it out with her lawyers and the landlords to let Kotaro move in, specifically room 2-3 so he’d be neighbors with Karino, because she wanted Karino to watch over him. Her lawyers still pay for her room, which is why it’s never rented out.

She had an affair which is why she separated from her husband, and it's shown that he went into therapy for domestic violence after assaulting her for it, causing Kotaro to spot the affair partner and call to him to help, which is why Kotaro was put into an orphanage.

51:51 it's how kids feel in these situations It took me a few decades before I was finally able to accept my dad was just a piece of shit and nothing I did or didn't do could have changed him and especially as a kid I truly thought it was my fault he got angry and drunk after I called the cops on him the first time I saw him beat my mom and I just made it worse by reporting him
