What a great concept for a video. Solo gamers don’t need to buy Elder Scrolls to have a good time (but I want it haha). Have never heard of Kinfire Delve, but really excited to play it now! Thanks for the great content.

What you mentioned with Kinfire Delve makes complete sense, every single turn is a new puzzle that needs to be optimized, it takes time, if you rush the game, it all falls apart, it’s one of my favorite games, got me into brain burners (not a bad thing)

Woah, didn't expect to see pivot into solo board games. I was an early follower of Volume One. Glad to see you still making vids! I love board games almost as much as One Piece so you've got a sub from me.

What you mentioned about 20 Strong I feel about Final Girl too. Both are resource and risk management games. Because of the dice rolls, it can make it seem like the game is a lot more luck based than they actually are. Like yes, luck is a component, but there is actually a lot of player agency that is easy to overlook. I had to play Final Girl a few times for it to finally click with me, which helped when I started 20 Strong.

Honestly. Thanks for the heads up on the price for Ares Expeditions. It’s been on my list for awhile but my local store never has it.

I am really big fan of Gate and Gates. Gate is good but Gates is a must have since it add so much to gate

Great video and great list! Dragons of Etchinstone ($15) + Northvale expansion ($12) combined still come in under the budget. I'd make the case the expansion is needed to meet the replayability requirement. But the form factor is also so small it makes a great game to travel with. Put all of that on top of a nice light mage knight ish inspired mechanics and it just hits the spot for me.

 That's a great list 😊

There are so many good smaller and affordable board games 🎉 (if you buy them all, you will still pay much 🤣)

You should check out any of Jason Glover of Grey Gnome Games Tin series! Tin Helm and Tin Realm are really fun, so is gate/ gates, along with dustrunners!
