I am classified as mild. Yet when I got the take home study, I was sleeping 8 or more hours every night and having 1 to 2 hours long naps every day. Like I would sleep on the bench of the church while my daughter was attending pre school. And I spent the rest of my day cranky with a hair trigger.

To add to the whole thing, my hunny has narcolepsy. My snoring made it harder for him to stay asleep so he was also clinging to the edge of sanity.

So I took the CPAP. I got used to it very quickly. It took a few months but I started being able to not need a nap. Daily life became easier.

I was told CPAP probably wouldn't help much because it was mild. I've learned since that if I score greater than 2 a night, the next day is harder. Turns out I really, really need lots of quality sleep to function.

I've snored like a hippo my whole life. Poor quality sleep limited my coping skills and defined who I was and who I thought I could be. It's taken intensive psychotherapy to break free of that early learning.

So yeah, CPAP has been life changing and I'm grateful for the chance I was given.

As someone who has had a frought relationship with sleep my entire life, low AHI, but managed to get my hands on APAP anyway... Seriously. If someone wants the leafblower facehugger, LET THEM TRY IT. It has been an absolute game changer for me.

I had the résmed11 and I have been on it for a year and this morning I woke up. I felt really great breathing not tired not sleepy during the day like I had been falling asleep falling asleep stop stoplight, fall asleep constantly in the house sitting and watching tv but now I feel more energized, not sleeping as much. this morning was great. Felt really good when I get out seven hours on.

I am working now with a Myofunctional therapist. My nasal airway is clear. I do have mild sleep apnea. I am healthy with hypertension which is what led me to get a sleep study. I do see some help with the CPAP. I monitor my sats and heart rate with a continuous finger probe. Some nights I don't lose my sats at all, but other nights I can go as low at 71 once or twice a night. My AHI is improving with my therapy.

It is clear the problem is my tongue tie that was not diagnosed with two sets of braces, TMJ treatment twice, and several dental issues. No one even thinks the tongue could be weak and blocking the airway. This is such great insight to my situation. I am seeking to get off the CPAP. I feel good most days, I don't have any issues with daily fatigue or sleepiness. I am a normal weight and have been my entire life. I take my blood pressure medicine as prescribed. And I walk daily and workout a few times a week. Relearning where my tongue should reside is harder than getting used to the CPAP. Bad habits are so hard to change. But I think hearing this, it will be worth it in the end.

I have severe sleep apnea at 86 a year ago. I went to a facility and had a sleep study done and they said if I had Sleep severely and gave me that sleep at my machine start out with the resmed10 I switched to Resumed. 11 with the F 40 face mask I stared out with a full face mask, going completely over my nose and mouth very irritating that swelling. My nose was very swelled and red so I went back and she gave me the state on the full face makers, give me the F 40 and it has worked great since then and now my AHI .1

Went to VA sleep clinic, the largest in the country. Right to CPAP with mild sleep apnea as the gold standard treatment. Private sleep doctor said same thing. In candor, just want the VA RATING

Mouth, Tongue and neck exercises? Other question, how often will Medicare pay for a home sleep study? Thanks for your interesting program.

Hi Chris-have you ever seen a patient after thoracic outlet? Surgery were their first rib was removed and they’re scaling were cut out and their diaphragm was paralyzed?

What are the criteria to qualify for an auto CPAP – and would you consider auto CPAP with the expire release component similar to an auto BiPAP?
I noticed hospitals and clinics always insist on auto CPAP… And will not often, if ever give a patient an auto BiPAP
Can you discuss the difference between the auto CPAP and the auto BiPAP?
Is it that significant?
