Deltarune Characters meet their Undertale Counterparts

  I like how the deltarune Undyne doesn&apos;t use magic, further hinting at the fact that deltarune characters cannot use magic (in the light world), while their Undertale counterparts can. Nice attention to detail.<br><br>Edit: Since there are still people debating this in the replies, I guess I have to explain myself in great detail.<br><br>1. In Undertale, Toriel&apos;s stove is pristine because she uses fire magic to cook food. However, in deltarune, her stove is dirty from frequent use, hinting at the fact that she cannot use magic.<br><br>2. The existence of a hospital in deltarune suggests that monsters cannot use healing magic to heal themselves or others. There is no hospital in Undertale (unless you count the Lab, which I would not) because monsters can use healing magic. Hence why Rudy is stuck in his hospital room. If there were monsters who could heal, he would be out in no time.<br><br>3. No one is shown using magic in the light world. All forms of transportation, entertainment, food and drink, etc. are non-magical. However, in the dark world, it seems like something allows them to use magic, but they have to learn it since they are unfamiliar with it. For example, Susie learns how to use healing magic after Ralsei taught her, and Noelle does not know how to use Snowgrave when you ask her to.<br><br>4. It seems like many monsters in deltarune are not made of magic like they are in Undertale. This is hinted at when Susie says &quot;Everybody bleeds, right?&quot; Perhaps in this world, many monsters are physical, and therefore have blood. The only exceptions to this are non-physical monsters like Napstablook and other ghost monsters. The young monster that asks Kris &quot;Does it hurt to be made of blood?&quot; could be one of these incorporeal monsters that do not have blood.<br><br>On an unrelated note, this last point fits into the theory that Sans (from Undertale) is actually from deltarune, since he bleeds on death. Plus, Papyrus remembers being around grass before he moved into Snowdin, and we know that there is tons of grass in deltarune. Maybe Papyrus is also from deltarune. The only problem with this is that Papyrus does not bleed when killed, so maybe Sans just had a ketchup bottle in his jacket after all.<br><br>I hope that was enough info to prevent any more confusion.<br><br>Edit 2: Since I am still getting replies about this to this day, I edited my original comment to be more clear. Plus, I guess I have to talk about the new evidence so here goes.<br><br>5. I stated this in a reply a long time ago, but I guess I&apos;ll restate it here. Catti seems to suggest she practices magic, and that she taught Noelle some. However, she apparently only taught Noelle &quot;protection spells&quot; and showed her &quot;occult findings.&quot; To me, that sounds like she is familiar with something similar to the real world modern day witchcraft culture. Not necessarily magic powers from Undertale.<br><br>6. Regarding new evidence to the 5th point, in chapter 4, Catti ponders using magic to get her parents out of a tree, but in the end, decides on getting a taller ladder. To me, this suggests that she recognizes that &quot;magic&quot; does not work in the light world, and that going for a more practical solution is the better move.<br><br>7. At the end of chapter 3, we finally see Undyne use magic. However, this only further proves my theory since she only uses it in the dark world. It seems like magic is also tied to intense emotion, since Susie&apos;s healing magic effectiveness depends on her mood (weak at the beginning of Chapter 4, and stronger towards the end). Additionally, Noelle using Snowgrave is a deeply emotional ordeal for her after all that manipulation you do to her. In this case, Undyne was probably greatly confused and angry when she saw a floating creature attacking a group of teenagers in an unfamiliar world, and summoned a ton of spears out of pure emotion (not something she practiced).<br><br>8. As for new evidence for my 4th point, it is confirmed at the end of chapter 4 that Susie, at least, does bleed. And while not downright confirmed, it is hinted that Noelle does as well, through the whole weird route scene in chapter 4. Additionally, it seems that darkners turn to dust when they are killed, just like monsters do in Undertale. This is shown when you attack and kill the Titan Spawn (which was the unused death animation that has existed in the game&apos;s files since chapter 1). <br><br>9. In Undertale, monsters have no idea what bathrooms or toilets are since they do not eat physical food that needs to be digested, instead eating food made of magic that immediately nourishes them. In deltarune, however, bathrooms exist and plenty of characters know what toilets are, suggesting that they eat physical food like from QC&apos;s Diner, ICE-E&apos;s P&quot;E&quot;ZZA, and Sans&apos; grocery store. Plus, Susie claims that dark world food (likely made of magic) never satisfies her hunger, which probably happens if you eat physical food all your life, then suddenly have to eat magic food that never enters your stomach (although this could be attributed to her being poor &nbsp;or homeless and is just always hungry).<br><br>10. Finally, the Undertale 10th anniversary stream revealed the reason why humans used magic to seal away the monsters in Undertale, but cannot use it in the present day. Apparently, summoning the Barrier cost the humans all their magic, rendering it impossible for them to use it anymore. Maybe something similar happened in deltarune that cost both the humans and monsters their magic. Something about the dark world reactivates this, though it seems only with monsters.<br><br>Back to my unrelated topic from earlier, the theory that Sans is from deltarune is becoming more and more plausible now that we know some monsters from deltarune can bleed. And since Papyrus has yet to show up in deltarune, I&apos;m inclined to believe that Papyrus from Undertale is not from deltarune, but Sans is. &nbsp;My updated theory is that Sans traveled to the Undertale universe to find an alternate version of his brother (perhaps his actual brother, the one from deltarune, went missing, died, or never existed in the first place). This would explain why Sans bleeds but Papyrus does not.<br><br>Thank you for reading this whole comment instead of making a comment that I have already contradicted in my previous points.   I loved how this video didn&apos;t mischaracterize any character and kept their essences, something that the fandom generally does quite the opposite.
