  To all South Koreans - i think it is wonderful that your families often share housing and live together. &nbsp;Here in the U.S. - we often have the opposite. &nbsp;Older people living alone. &nbsp;Feeling alone. &nbsp;Isolated from their families. &nbsp;Many die alone. &nbsp;So when i see a culture that still cares for its elderly - where families and even multiple families live together - i could never think this is a bad thing. &nbsp;It&apos;s not. &nbsp;So enjoy your families and relatives. &nbsp;Life is short so take care of one another along the way.

  When I saw them having wheelchair user in the group, I, wheelchair user myself thought: &quot;Yeeeah no. Wonder if they address this&quot;. When Heejae did, I was happy. I hope that someday Korea would be accessible enough. And even physically it would be, change in attitudes will take very long time. Thank you for pointing this out!

  Some South Koreans were literally protesting the nationwide ban on the dog meat industry. The law, passed in January 2024, outlawed the breeding, slaughter, and sale of dogs for human consumption. It includes a three-year transition period, with the ban taking full effect in February 2027 to give farmers and business owners time to switch to other livelihoods.<br>So this is a very recent change. Most South Koreans don&apos;t eat dog meat, but the industry clearly still existed, and some people—likely from the older generation—were still consuming it. Otherwise, there wouldn&apos;t have been protests over the ban.
