  Checking back years later. I still don’t agree with it. I could add that Joel Webbon has moved even further into dangerous territory since this discussion, which I honestly take as a fulfillment of my own predictive concerns I shared in our talk years ago.

  My problem with theonomy would be that human beings are involved.  It sounds like a situation where things could get very inquisition-y.

  Pastor Mike. And anyone who reads this. I am part of Geneseo First Methodist and we currently are part of the United Methodist Church. My church is voting to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church this coming Sunday (01/22/23) because of the continued and undisciplined ignoring of the word of God and in some cases denial of the physical resurrection of Jesus by many leaders in the United Methodist Church. I ask that you pray for us and that Gods will is carried out.

  Mike, one more thing I feel compelled to compliment you on. You kept the conversation focused on the issue. You didn't take any cheap shots at Calvinists. You are a class act, sir. As a Calvinist who detests this doctrine of theonomy, I feel like I have more in common with you than I do some of my own theological circle. Thank you for this interview. Truly a model of Christian conduct.

  Nothing makes me more proud of the Body of Christ than when disagreement is handled with such respect acknowledgment that you're both working for the same goal of spreading the Kingdom. Well done gentlemen, you both represented the Lord and your positions very well.

  Joel pushed back and said that it&apos;s an argument from silence to say that no other nation was given the Law. This is incorrect. It is stated explicitly that the law was given to no other nation.<br><br>[Psa 147:19-20 ESV] 19 He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel. 20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his rules. Praise the LORD!

  I could type a long thesis on why this wouldn&apos;t work, but it comes down to this: it does not work unless King Jesus is on His Thrown in His NEW Kingdom, with His willing followers who are made new in the resurrection, at His 2nd coming. &nbsp;This is coming it&apos;s just not yet.
