  Hello! I am Pappy Gunn’s great grand daughter. My grandma (we all called her “Nanny”) is Constance Gunn, one of his daughters. She always shared with me so many of her memories of her childhood, her time in the concentration camp, told me all about Pappy. I am so honored to be part of his lineage…he was a brave and tough man! Without him, I wouldn’t be here. My dad actually sent me your video. We think it’s so cool to see the heart of our family’s story being told. Thank you!

  The gun shock wave blowing out your eardrums is a real thing. You'll see pictures of artillery being fired and the soldiers firing it will all have their mouths open.

  That is the big difference between the News Media of then and now. Now they would get your famoly killed and then frame it as your fault.and call themselves the hero.

  They lay by the brick wall to help shield themselves from shrapnel and some of the concussive shockwave from any bombs that might explod nearby. Hit by a few bricks falling down is better than chunks of metal ripping through your body or a shockwave that can cause internal bleeding and worse.

  Boomy, I am glad you loved this history story and at least shows you how deeply men do love their families. I absolutely loved that his family wife and kids were just as tenacious as him. I love Fat Electrician videos to about WWII because the more I watch the more I think of my grandpa and his generation of the &quot;Greatest Generation&quot; and now see why they got that title. I am proud to have followed in my family&apos;s footsteps of serving as my dad too did serve during Korean War, my Uncle POW during Vietnam.

  Paul &quot;Pappy&quot; Gunn and his wife, Clara Louise Crosby Gunn (whom he called Polly), were married on June 7, 1921. They remained married for 36 years, until Pappy Gunn&apos;s death in 1957. Their marriage was famously enduring, surviving the immense strain of World War II, where Polly was imprisoned in a Japanese internment camp while Pappy Did his thing. Paul &quot;Pappy&quot; Gunn was 57 years old when he died on October 11, 1957.   It takes TFE to bring these heroes to our notice. He is US-centric, but that&apos;s the stuff he can research. Heroes are heroes whatever their nationality.
