I love seeing this kind of stuff! It’s especially interesting that it’s scaled to smaller O27 type cars. Somebody spent quite a bit of money at the time getting those trucks, heck they probably cost more than the kits did lol.

Thats really interesting. Even though the war effort got first priority over new metal and other materials lets not forget that recycling anything metal was a big thing at that time. I wonder How many metal bodied model trains were sent to scrap for the greater good. Id love to know the full history behind these. 😊

Contact the NMRA or TCA to get more info on this, they may have a reference to it! PLus the standard for car kits in all scales (at the time HO/OO/S and O) into the 1950s was paper printed or silk-screen printed sides over a wood substructure.
