Probably, but im sure no one cared more for the house and the gardens than George did at the time.

It's obvious that for George, Friark Park was a spiritual place... I think it was the only place in the "material world" to which he felt attached.

Imagine how spooky it was there sometimes at night in that house ... like the night George Harrison and his wife were attacked by that KNIFE-WIELDING guy . 😮

Open it up for tours, turn it into more businesses than just the studio. Create incomes and deductions for staff and gardeners. Host events, lease space, Harrison museum and merchandise, gift shops, educational spaces, spiritual centers, make it pay for itself while leaving personal spaces for the family.

I would guess the family would live in a small section of the estate … 90% of that structure would be off limits . <br>George really needed someplace to be away from people and I think he picked a good location .

I don't know the story well, but Dhani Harrison mentions in an interview that this property was originally a catholic school. He even mentions a few of the people that graduated from it and ended having a public profile themselves. So, that explains the massiveness of that place, it wasn't built for a family. Wealthy people that don't inherit money and instead become very rich relatively quickly like musicians, athletes, etc., normally have financial advisors that tell them what to do with their money. It wouldn't surprise me that that was the case for some of the Beatles. He probably bought that property influenced by financial advisors and ended up deciding to live in it for practical reasons ( it would allow him to build a studio in it, etc. ), then he fell in love with the gardens and the historical buildings and decided to take good care of the property and keep it. Up until today it seems to be owned by the Harrison family.

One of the wonders of GREAT wealth is that you can easily afford to be ridiculously extravagant. If not for yourself, then at least for those you care about. 60,000 square feet of living space? I really could do with that RIGHT ABOUT NOW!!!
