  I&apos;ve always loved the Algerian flag. &nbsp;Maybe because it has the same colors of my Mexican flag, but their flag is also beautiful. OMG: those winter coats were amazing and the price was even better.

  The Kasbah was founded in 960 AD, at that time the Ottomans were in Central Asia and China. The Kasbah is an Algerian Ziri heritage and architecture founded by &quot;Bologhine Ben Ziri&quot; and it existed 6 centuries before the Ottomans came to Algeria. The Ottoman building style was inspired by Byzantine architecture, and there are no similarities between it and the architecture in the Kasbah. Most of those who came to Algeria were Janissaries and had nothing to do with construction, urbanism, food or clothing. The only influence in the Kasbah during the Ottoman period was the &quot;Andalusian&quot; style due to the migration of the Moriscos from the in the sixteenth century, and this can be seen in the new palaces.

  Algeria is on the top of my short list of countries to visit. The main thing for me, is as an American, it was $180 for a 2 year visa. I haven’t looked at the rules, in the last year or so. We can only have a multi-entry visa. Also, they said you had to be a part of a tour, but that’s probably a good thing. It didn’t have to be for the whole stay. But, if you arrived by ferry, you didn’t need a visa. So, I thought about going from Marseille. I really want to go to Constantine. It looks amazing! It’s cool, Algeria doesn’t need, nor want to rely on tourism. They have oil money. It seems they’re also protecting their peace. So, to travel there is a bit of a hurdle, but the people who’ve gone indicated how great the people are.

  What is good in Algeria, is that there is only one rate, not like other countries, a rate for locals and a rate for tourists.

  Just for your information, Ché Guevara lived and &quot;worked&quot; in Algiers as part of a revolutionary think tank member. He was loved and respected in Algeria.

  Algeria is the country of a million martyrs. The french were horrible to the local population but Algerians continued to resist the occupiers until they liberated themselves. French were there from 1830 to 1962. Hence french is common as they were forced to speak it over arabic or amazigh. French occupiers tried to erase algerian and islamic culture but the people were strong and resisted. Gorgeous country with super friendly, kind people. I am super excited for this series! Use google translate 😊!
