It’s been 8 years now… I’m still here next to the bath waiting on it to be full. Thank you dude you’ve helped soo many sleepless nights and honestly thank you just isn’t enough what you’ve done for soo many people including me deserves more than a couple thousand likes and views.

When I was a little girl, in the late 1990s, every Sunday morning I used to watch my father get ready for work. I would sit on the little marble ledge at the edge of the bathtub, right beside the large beige sink, and quietly watch him shave and wash his face. He always left the faucet running, and I can still vividly remember the warm droplets of water splashing onto my face and hands. In winter, the bathroom was always cold, and those tiny warm drops would send goosebumps across my skin.
After my father left, I would turn on the bathtub faucet and let it fill with warm water. Soon the room would fill with steam, and I would lean my head against the cold tiled wall, listening to the sound of the water flowing through the pipes inside it. Then I would stretch out one leg and sink my foot into the warm bathwater while the rest of my body rested against the cold marble.
I’ll never forget that feeling. I was so relaxed that I felt as if I could fall asleep right there.
This video takes me back to those moments.I am deeply grateful.

I used to sit next to the bath as it was filling and cover myself over with a big towel so it was dark then pretend I was inside a tent behind a waterfall somewhere, never felt more at peace when I did that somehow.

The number of folks here hiding under a towel/bathrobe is amazing. I thought for sure that was a just me thing.

This is my go to video when I am stressed. What’s more comforting is reading the comments. I’ve been reading some of the same comments for years and somehow they still bring me so much peace and comfort.

Early in the morning, when it’s still dark and the whole house is quiet, I lie shirtless on a towel next to the tub. I press my ear close to the porcelain to catch the soft, echoing sounds of the water as it fills up. Tiny droplets splash onto my skin cool and sudden leaving little trails that give me goosebumps. The quiet, the stillness, the sound it all feels strangely familiar, like a forgotten moment from my childhood quietly coming back…

I'm Japanese. The sound of the bathtub or shower and the splashing of water has always brought me a meditative sense of detachment, and physically, a pleasant chill that gives me goosebumps. I remember it happening before I was 10 years old, but I'd like to share my memories and the pleasure I felt at the time. Our rural bathroom was so spacious it was cold, and even the large enamel bathtub took a long time to heat up. On winter days, the boiled water would rise from the large faucet, occasionally splashing droplets all around, while steam would rise. As a child, I would drape a towel over my head and place my face next to the faucet. As I mentioned earlier, the bathroom was spacious and the bathtub was large, so as a child, I curled up close to the faucet and felt as if I was enveloped in the sound of a waterfall, the water droplets wetting and swaying on the towel, the rising steam, and the hot water pooling at my feet. The combination of the occasional splashes of cold air and the dripping water gave me goosebumps and a sense of detachment, as if I was being watched from afar. It brought me a very calming feeling, and it felt like returning to the safe place where I was born. In my experience, Japanese people around me don't really understand this kind of feeling. Although, there are quite a few who do when it comes to waterfalls. Sorry for my poor English. I've been treated like a weirdo, so I hope I can convey this feeling.🙏

By far the best comment section on any YouTube video. No fighting. No arguing. Just stories of everyone’s shared human experience. I love it so much

I used to fall asleep every night to the sound of my mom running her bath water and some years back randomly thought about it. I started searching for sound clips of bath water running to put me to sleep. I had no idea this was a thing that other people enjoyed too! My favorite thing to fall asleep to by far!!

One time, when I was 4 or 5 years old and also sick with a cold, my mom put me in the bathroom, turned the shower and let the steam fill the room. She called this activity a “steam shower”. I remember vividly how at peace I was and it moved my mind away from the cold I had. I also remember the shower curtain we had resembled ships sailing the ocean, and it would always have my attention any time I would take these steam showers. I have a deep found nostalgia for the moment a shower turns on; the loud splash hitting the floor and the ambient soundscape put me in a different world. I always remember the steam showers I took as a child and this video puts me in the mind of my 5 year old self. I can’t help but feel very bittersweet every time I listen to this video but it always does manage to put me at peace.

When i was a kid i always had the room next to the bathroom the low lighting from under the door and the sound the shower or bath filling used to put me at ease every time. I remember being around 5/6 years old. I put my head down on my kitchen island and heard the sound of the water running through the pipes..in retrospect that was the first time I felt the tingling feeling, and I really only get it from the sound of running water. I find it very relaxing and therapeutic in a way, like I’m being protected.
I love to read everyone’s stories about their similar experiences. I also used to wrap my whole body in a towel and pretend like I was in a cave or something, a sliver of light shining through while the water filled the tub.
I hope everyone in this comment section is doing well.
I know personally that I listen to this when I’m really stressed or anxious. it brings me comfort, like I’m a kid again. I’ve been through a lot in my life, anxiety and depression, loss of loved ones closest to me when I was young and a teenager. I’m 20 now, and I find myself coming back to this video a lot, I just want to say thank you to everyone for sharing their experiences too, makes me feel connected to total strangers lol.
take care everyone ❤️
